About World Unscrambler
World Unscrambler is a free word unscrambler for 43 languages. You type a set of letters and it lists every word in that language's dictionary that can be made from them, sorted by length. It is meant for word games such as Scrabble, Wordle, Words With Friends and crosswords, and for anyone learning vocabulary in another language.
Who runs this site
World Unscrambler is built and maintained by Eduard-Dragos Condria, an independent web developer based in Romania. It is a one-person project, not a company. I started it because most unscramblers only handle English well, while word games are played in every language, many of them with letters such as ă, ß, ñ or ø that an English tool simply ignores.

How it works
Each language page loads its own word list once. When you type letters, the search runs entirely in your browser: it checks which dictionary words can be built from your letters, with ? standing for any letter. The letters you type are never sent to a server. After the first visit, the pages keep working offline through a service worker.
Where the word lists come from, and their limits
The site holds one word list per language, about 5.2 million words in total. They are general vocabularies, not official tournament lists. That has two consequences you should know about:
- Some lists include names of people and places, which are not valid in Scrabble or Wordle.
- Some rare tournament-only words are missing. The English list, for example, does not contain QI or QAT.
Use the results to find candidates quickly, then let your game's own word checker decide anything borderline. Several language pages explain which official game dictionaries are used in that language.

If a common word is missing, a language page has a mistake, or a figure on the blog looks wrong, please write to me. Reported errors are checked and fixed.

The site is free and has no paid tier. It is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising does not affect which words are shown.
